Video game creator Hideo Kojima appeared during today’s Summer Game Fest broadcast to announce Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
This new version of the popular PlayStation title is known as Death Stranding Director’s Cut and was revealed by Kojima in a new trailer. The video itself showed the game’s main character, Sam Porter Bridges, appearing in a location not found in the original version. The place itself was full of enemies that led Sam to look for a way to navigate without being found.
He then grabs a cardboard box from a shelf and jumps into it, before leaving. This entire sequel was clearly a callback to Kojima’s previous work on the Metal Gear Solid series. It could also be a provocation that stealth elements will come to Death Stranding somehow.

As to when Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released, that’s something we don’t know yet. PlayStation just said that the game is “coming soon” for the PS5 right now. However, more details were promised in the coming weeks. This is particularly interesting because it seems to indicate that PlayStation itself will be announcing its own showcase soon.
