Honor: a new midrange device
The Chinese company is expected to remain true to its product range from when it was a subsidiary of Huawei. This makes sense considering these phones already have a huge following; Among the most popular series is the “Honor Play” and a company executive has revealed that a new model is on the way next month.
The information was revealed by Wei Xiaolong, the product manager of the Honor Play series, in a conversation on Weibo. According to the executive, the new generation Honor Play smartphone will arrive next month; he also added that the new device will have support for fast charging.
Last year, Honor announced the Play4 and Play4 Pro. The standard model was marketed as an affordable 5G mid-range phone with a Dimensity 800 processor, a four-camera setup with a 64MP main lens, and a 4300mAh battery. with support for 22.5W fast charging.
The Honor Play4 Pro, on the other hand, was launched as a flagship phone with a processor Kirin 990 5G under the hood. It has two front cameras, a 40MP dual rear lens, and a 4200mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. The phone also features an IR temperature sensor close to cameras that can be used to measure the temperature of people and objects.
It is important to state that Honor has also released Honor Play4T and Honor Play4T Pro, both devices with LTE modules.
We’re not sure yet if there will be two Play models slated for release this year or just one; however, what intrigues us is the chipset that will power the devices. Will the new midrange of the former Huawei sub-brand be the first Honor phone with a Snapdragon processor this year? We’ll see.
