LG promises to update Android on smartphones for another 3 years

LG has just announced that it will continue to update the Android operating system of the company’s premium line smartphones for up to 3 years.

The guarantee of three operating system updates applies to LG premium phones released in 2019 and later (G series, V series, VELVET, Wing), while some 2020 models, such as LG Stylo and K series, will receive two operating system updates.

LG will continue to manufacture phones during the second quarter to fulfill contractual obligations with operators and partners.

This means that customers can still purchase LG cell phones currently in stock, and support services and security software updates will continue to be provided for a period of time for certain devices.
